China-North America Environmental Issues Agenda Project

Funders: McMaster Center for Leadership in Learning, Government of China, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics

This project involves a comparative analysis of the media agenda concerning environmental issues in prominent Chinese, Canadian and American newspapers. Our lab is conducting a detailed content analysis of environmental coverage to see how media coverage and use of expert opinion differs around environmental events and issues.

Project II:

Canadian Political Communication Content Index

Funders: McMaster Arts Research Board, McMaster Centre for Leadership in Learning

This project constitutes a detailed, longitudinal content analysis of political communication in Canada. Beginning with a detailed content analysis of Question Period in the Canadian Parliament, our lab will measure the content and tone of Parliamentary communication, with the aim of establishing a definition and then index of political civility in Canada.
